Fortis Behavioral Health was founded by Deana Flynn, MSN, PMHNP-BC, after recognizing a need for more personalized and patient-centered mental health care in North Carolina. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, Deana envisioned a practice where patients could feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment journey.

Built on a foundation of family, Fortis began with the support of Deana’s daughter-in-law, Haleigh Leach, and later welcomed her daughter, Hannah Anderson, to the team. What began as a small practice has grown into a trusted provider of mental health services for individuals and families across North Carolina. Over the years, Fortis has continued to expand its staff and services while remaining committed to compassionate, personalized, and evidence-based care.
