Introducing GeneSight

Embark on a transformative journey in mental health care as we introduce GeneSight® – a cutting-edge genetic testing solution. With GeneSight®, we bring personalized precision to medication choices, offering a breakthrough approach to enhancing mental well-being based on your unique genetic profile.

What is GeneSight?

GeneSight® is a special test that helps doctors figure out which medications might work best for your mental health. It looks at your unique genes to give personalized advice on which treatments could be more effective for you, making the process of finding the right medication a bit easier.

How Does it Work?

Step 1

The GeneSight test is a simple cheek swab taken in our office OR a kit can be ordered and sent by our office to be taken in the convenience of your home via GeneSight at Home

Step 2

Once you provide your sample, it will be sent to the lab for analysis. We typically receive the results in approximately 2 days after the lab receives your sample.

Step 3

We will review your results on the next visit. The results will be used to make the best decisions regarding your mental health medication treatment.

Your Sample is Handled With Care

Generally, samples are destroyed within 60 days of receipt, however, the samples may be destroyed at any time after the testing is completed upon request.

The process is a simple cheek swab that will be placed in a paper envelope. This drying process ensures the samples remain stable by preventing microbial growth and breakdown of DNA.

The lab is located here in the United States, in Mason, OH.

A comprehensive report, personalized for you and shared with your clinician.

The GeneSight Psychotropic report can save you from trying lots of medications. It tells your doctor which ones might not work well for you or could have more side effects based on your genes. The report also talks about how smoking might affect how your body handles some medications. It sorts more than 60 mental health medicines into four groups.
