Please reach out to our office to schedule a mental health appointment today. Our compassionate team is here to support you on your journey to well-being. Additionally, new patients can now request their own initial appointment using our embedded calendar and complete a pre-screening form online for added convenience.

Step 2: Activate Your Patient Portal

Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive a link to create your personalized patient portal. This portal will provide you with secure access for patient intake forms, telehealth, appointment details, and more.

Step 3: Fill Out Your New Patient Paperwork

Within your patient portal, you’ll find all the necessary new patient forms and consent documents conveniently accessible. Simply fill out these forms in your portal, streamlining the process and ensuring a seamless experience when you arrive for your appointment.

Step 4: Have Your Initial Appointment

Please arrive 15 minutes early to your first appointment to allow ample time for check-in and to ensure a prompt start to your session. If applicable, please remember to bring a copy of your insurance card.

Deana Flynn

MSN, PMHNP-BC
Founder & Clinical Director

Deana Flynn is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 14 years of clinical experience treating individuals across the lifespan. Her background includes inpatient psychiatry, emergency departments, crisis stabilization units, and outpatient care, equipping her with a deep understanding of complex psychiatric needs across developmental stages and life circumstances.

 

As the Founder and Clinical Director of Fortis Behavioral Health, Deana leads both patient care and practice strategy. She provides direct psychiatric treatment while also overseeing business operations, expanding access to care, supervising licensed providers, and mentoring students through preceptorship. Under her leadership, Fortis delivers an integrative care model that combines cutting-edge psychopharmacology, nutritional psychiatry, lifestyle interventions, and food-as-medicine principles. Her philosophy is grounded in the integration of mind, body, and spirit, supported by year-round continuing education in functional and integrative mental health.

 

Her practice is committed to diagnostic precision and personalized care, using genetic testing, lab analysis, and both subjective and objective clinical tools. Fortis Behavioral Health also associates with the Amen Clinics in Atlanta, allowing Deana to refer appropriate patients for brain SPECT imaging and to provide continuity of care for individuals referred from Amen Clinics.

 

Deana earned her Master of Science in Nursing from East Tennessee State University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fayetteville State University. She will begin her Doctor of Behavioral Health (DBH) studies at Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies in January 2026, further advancing her expertise in clinical practice, healthcare leadership, and integrated behavioral health systems. She is currently completing certification as a Brain Health Professional through Amen University and is an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association, and the Council of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurses.

Madelyn Quinlan

MsEd, LCMHC-A

Madelyn Quinlan is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A) in the state of North Carolina. She holds a Master of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, both from St. Bonaventure University. In addition to her formal clinical training, Madelyn is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and a Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, with training completed at Yoga Off East in Durham, NC.

Madelyn has several years of counseling experience across educational and nonprofit settings, including family therapy during her graduate internship, school-based counseling at Person Early College for Innovation and Leadership, and student mental health support at Methodist University. Her diverse background informs a thoughtful and integrative approach to care.

Madelyn blends mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other evidence-based strategies to support clients in making meaningful, lasting changes. She believes that mental health goes beyond symptom management—it’s about building a life that is balanced, fulfilling, and rooted in one’s core values. Her compassionate, whole-person approach recognizes the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and environment.

Madelyn is currently pursuing additional training in Gottman Method Level 1 for couples counseling and actively explores continuing education opportunities related to ACT and OCD. She is passionate about helping others reconnect with a purposeful and intentional path forward in life.

Haleigh Leach

Director of Finance and Operations

Haleigh, a UNC-Pembroke graduate, seamlessly integrates years of business management expertise with a genuine passion for patient well-being. As the Practice Manager, she specializes in day-to-day management, overseeing billing, insurance, and financial aspects to ensure efficient and patient-focused operations. Additionally, she plays a pivotal role in patient referrals and coordination, working diligently to optimize every aspect of our practice for the benefit of our patients.

Hannah Anderson

Director of Health Systems Integration

Hannah, a Purdue University graduate, oversees the management of Fortis Behavioral Health’s website, patient portal, emails, and marketing materials, ensuring they are regularly updated and compliant with HIPAA regulations. In addition to this responsibility, she also manages referrals, patient coordination, and scheduling processes. Her objective is to maintain these platforms fully functional, private, compliant, and user-friendly for our patients and their families.

Danielle Hendrix

Clinical Services Manager

Danielle, a graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, holds a Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies with minors in Sociology and Psychology. She now serves as our Clinic Services Manager, overseeing daily operations and supervising administrative staff while continuing to provide direct clinical support to providers. Her role encompasses workflow coordination, staff training, and operational oversight, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and accountability across the clinic. Danielle’s leadership helps maintain smooth operations, high-quality care processes, and an excellent patient experience for every individual served.

Iris Lozano

Administrative Support Specialist
 

Born and raised in Lumberton, Iris Lozano serves as our Administrative Support Specialist and the welcoming face at our front desk. With close to ten years of administrative experience—including time spent in a mental health setting—Iris brings both compassion and efficiency to her role. Fluent in Spanish, she helps us better serve our diverse community and ensures that every patient feels heard, respected, and supported from the moment they walk in.
